The French Immersion Team
Our grade 8, 10 and 11 French Immersion students demonstrated excellent improv skills during the Théâtre la Seizième workshops today. They had lots of fun and enjoyed practicing and developing their spontaneous oral language skills. Thanks to the wonderfully engaging workshop facilitator Zak Tardif. The students can’t wait for next year! À la prochaine!
Our French Immersion students are definitely feeling and spreading the Christmas joy and holiday cheer this year.
Wishing everyone a restful holiday season.
See you all in 2017!
Joyeux Noël et Bonne Année à tous !!!
École Alpha Secondary welcomed the grade 7 French Immersion students from our Family Schools (École Aubrey Elementary, École Sperling Elementary and École Capitol Hill Elementary). The grade 7 students had the opportunity to experience high school for a day. They were paired with a grade 8 Alpha French Immersion Student and visited grade 8 classes. They also participated in fun workshops and a treasure hunt throughout the day organised by our French Immersion Grade 11 Peer Mentors.
Thank you to our Family Schools French Immersion teachers and students for making this day possible. We hope you enjoyed it as much as our students did.
The grade 8, 9, 10 and 11 French Immersion students demonstrated excellent improv skills during the Théâtre la Seizième workshops this month. They had lots of fun and enjoyed practicing and developing their spontaneous oral language skills. Thanks to the wonderful and very funny workshop facilitator Joey Lespérance. The students can’t wait for next year!
The grade 11’s completed this year’s first Inquiry Project in Sciences humaines 11. It was a great success! The students demonstrated a serious level of research and their content was amazing. They’ve made Monsieur Lee extremely proud!
Ecole Alpha French Immersion students in grades 9-11 had the opportunity to attend two student matinée screenings (Tour de France and 1:54) at the Vancouver International Film Festival in October 2016. Both movies sparked meaningful and thought-provoking conversations in our classes.
